KATE HADDEN
Voice, Piano, Song writing, Digital Composition, Saxophone
Kate’s music education started at the age of 3 at Children’s Music Academy. Growing up surrounded by music fostered her love for piano and vocal performance, as well as acoustic guitar and alto saxophone. Over the years, she has developed a strong foundation in both classical and contemporary styles, supported by extensive training in music theory, sight-reading, and performance technique.
Currently pursuing a B.S. of Quantitative Biosciences & Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines, Kate is a Presidential Scholar with ambitions of attending Law School. Her passion for teaching stems from high school, where she held several leadership positions as a trusted mentor to her peers. Additionally, she taught at the Colorado School of Music in downtown Golden and loved every minute guiding her students on their path to discovering their own musical voice.
With years of performance experience—including choir tours in Spain and Portugal, jazz solos, and advanced vocal training in multiple languages—Kate brings both professionalism and creativity into her lessons. She finds creative influence from artists like Ben Platt, Sara Bareilles, Adele, and Billy Joel, as well as choral composers like Eric Whitacre, Jake Runestad, and Chris Aspaas. As a teacher, Kate’s priority is to provide her students with a foundation upon which confidence, creative freedom, and community can be built. She believes that music, regardless of instrument, genre, origin, or form, has brought immense joy to her life— a joy she hopes to inspire in others.
